The Building

A Wardman home is synonymous with a well-built home. Architectural historians agree that this 1928 residence, with its gorgeous bones and brick façade facing landscaped gardens, is Mr. Wardman's-and Washington, D.C.'s-crowning residential achievement.

A Twist on Tradition and a Masterful Plan

Deborah Berke Partners

With the infusion of Deborah Berke Partners' vision, the interiors of the storied Wardman Tower are being completely reimagined to accommodate today's cultural and political influencers. In her studied, erudite manner, Berke brings together the best of Parisian design, Wardman strength and contemporary functionality in residences that are both sumptuous and simple.

PARIS TO D.C.

"The city must be beautiful, due advantage being taken of the hilly nature of the spot for grand or lovely prospects"

PIERRE CHARLES L'ENFANT
August 27, 1791, Observations Explanatory of the Plan

L'Enfant's urban plan highly influenced Baron Haussmann, who gave Paris its iconic order of boulevards that radiate from monuments still visible today. The two Frenchmen's understanding of the hierarchy of space highly influenced Deborah Berke.

LIVING AND DINING STUDY

WINDOW STUDY

Impeccable
Restoration

Restoration experts reintroduced the original window configurations, balconies and doors. Thousands of square feet of the façade have been repointed with brick, cast iron, stone and metal to a quality of finish of which Harry Wardman would certainly approve. Set back from the street and above much of Washington, Wardman Tower's exterior stands as a reminder of what architecture in this powerful city has been, and as a beacon of what it can be.

Landmarked
Landscaping

As one of Washington's top landscape architecture firms, Michael Vergason Landscape Architects has been lauded for setting extremely high standards. The lushly landscaped area around the elevated building gently separates the Tower from the bustle of the city, slowly integrating residents to urban life through brick walkways, granite curbsides and vintage-style lampposts that will illuminate the 3.3 acre grounds.
